Hey everyone! I know I have been slacking, but fear not, I am preparing a great post at the moment and just need to put the finishing touches on it. In the meantime I am sitting here in the denver … Continue reading
Although many of you may consider all those big red carpet events some of the biggest of the year, you are wrong. Sorry to break it to you. But if you missed out on this amazing birthday party I threw for my sister and her husband along with some of her friends….you missed it. Plain and simple. With a vintage inspired, Big Fish, countryside, early 50s theme.. this party was complete with Cocktails in mason jars, beer in the wheelbarrow, whiskey tasting and of course pie. We had a wonderful confetti pinata, made by my brother, chocolate tasting, bobbing for apples (which almost every guy actually did) and a bounce house in the back for the kids. It was a great night of relaxing eating pie on picnic blankets socializing and of course celebrating Katie and Jonce’s 30th Birthdays. I had so much fun planning this with my sister’s friends Paige and Kym. Although it was a lot of work, it totally was worth it! So here are some wonderful pictures, all courtesy of Ventola Photography. There are quite a few pictures. But there were just so many unique and wonderful moments! Enjoy!
One of my favorite parts of the whole experience was a surprise for the Birthday Guests! We had some of Katie and Jonce’s friends design special garments and pieces especially for the two to wear to their party. The day before we delivered the garments with a formal invitation to the party! They had known ahead of time where and when the party was…but none of the theme or decorating details and it was killing them! Katie’s dress is by the wonderful Monique Sandoval from Ouma, and her headpiece is by the talented Jenn Wood from Mignonne Handmade. Jonce’s bow tie is from the local wonder Aaron Kimberlin and his bowties at Dapper and Dash.
Thanks to everyone who came! It was a blast!
So tomorrow is Mother’s day! Mom’s I must say, are amazing. Watching my mom and my sister elegantly handle all of their responsibilities, makes me that much more excited to be a mom myself! This little collection makes me think of my mother, and all the mothers out there. Their warm heart and unyielding grace makes for one amazing lady. After getting to finally spend a Saturday doing nothing in particular, I scoured the thrift shops around me and got caught on a vintage rage. Today I was inspired is eco-friendly products and vintage wonderfulness of course!
Enjoy! And go call your mom if you aren’t with her right now!
Go give your momma, madre, Mutter, Mom a huge HUG because she is one of the main reasons you are you!
Have a wonderful Sunday and see you all soon!
As a child, this was one of my favorite books. Maurice Sendak created a world of gentle monsters who lived solely in the head of little Max. Sadly, Maurice has recently passed away. We all hope that he now is enjoying the company of his wonderful creations, his wonderful monsters. Today I devote my post, to the wonder and the magic ofWhere the Wild Things Are. Thank you Maurice.

I feel a color post coming on! I was thinking about color today. If you read my previous posts about the use of color in your wardrobe, you know I LOVE color. So I am going to explore some amazing items that accentuate two of my favorite colors, mint and coral!
Sharing is caring! 😉
I apoligize for my recent absence. I have been insanely busy planning and hosting my sister’s birthday party (great success btw, pics and details to come). This is the first time I have had to sit and really catch up, so it’s going to be grand.
